     Cancer Support Ministry

             Whether you are a patient, survivor, family member or  

             caregiver, you are not alone.  Our Mission Statement is to provide a            

             spiritual  gathering and fellowship of support for those who are

             Cancer patients, survivors, family members, and caregivers.

     Grief Ministry

          Facilitator: Ellen Albright

                 Purpose: Eight members currently serve as Grief Ministers to people

                 who have experienced the loss of a family member. For one year 

                 the Grief Minister visits, makes phone calls, or sends notes and

                 reading material that is helpful.

     Lay Pastor Ministry

          Facilitator: Ellen Albright

                 Purpose: Each Lay Pastor/Shepherd builds an ongoing

                 pastoral relationship with 3 families, and/or individuals. Contact

                 is made monthly (or as needed) in the form of a telephone call,

                 home visit, hospital visit, or a card to provide prayer and support.

     MOPS - Ministry of Prayer and Supplication

          Team Leader: Don Sidebottom

                 Purpose: MOPS offers prayer and support to LPC families and friends.

                 As soon as Don knows of a special prayer need, he contacts

                 others.  Prayer support then begins and can continue for an

                 indefinite period of time.

      Telecare

              Team Leaders: Caron Ward and Kay Testerman

                  Purpose: Two teams serve to make telephone calls to members

                  of LPC and offer encouragement. Any prayer requests are

                  given to MOPS/Staff. Each LPC member family is called twice a year.
